Altered Ego Renga Manga cosplay After Unusual Stage Skills School Severn Light In Defence Zone Gallery

< x o x > m e d i a  &  a r t s   is the website representing David Sinden, a Penarth-based independent photographer, arts producer, curator and educator.

Significant projects include After?, a series of portraits shown at the National Assembly for Wales Senedd, Cardiff in 2008, Silent Revival, an interdisciplinary workshop programme for Welsh, Greek and Bulgarian artists, writers and filmakers held in Sofia in 2010 on which he was a project coordinator, and a new series of portraits of CosPlay devotees currently being prepared for 2017.

The latest project by David and his co-conspirator Kate Woodward is Altered Ego which will explore the construction of identity through the worlds of espionage and deceptionů Workshops at Cardiff School of Art and Design and Bath Spa University will see participants create new identities and trial them in the real world...

David and Kate are also currently running a series of PhotoRenga workshops. PhotoRenga have featured in madeinroath 2016, and the Rookwood Hospital PhotoRenga was shown at Insole Court in June, and will be exhibited at The HeARTh Gallery, Llandough Hospital in early 2018.  The upcoming 76m2 PhotoRenga will be shown at the fabulous 76m2 gallery in Pontypool from 12th October.

David has previously worked for several leading digital arts agencies in London and Brighton, including Artec, the Lux and Lighthouse Media Centre. He was co-founder in 1991 and Director of Zone Gallery, the leading photography and media gallery in Newcastle upon Tyne, until 1998.

In addition to producing his own artworks, David undertakes commissioned photography projects, such as the Discovering Development exhibition documenting child psychology research at Cardiff University for National Science Week 2011. David is also an artform adviser for the Arts Council of Wales.
